Damaged Passport

Hi All.

I came here on F1 Visa. Now i'm on H1 Visa(stamping yet to be done). My passport got damaged accidentally. If i apply for a duplicate passport through normal procedure(not under Tatkal Scheme), what would be the validity period on my passport.

1. Does this come under short term validity( and i have to renew it again)?

2. Or the validity period would be as of my original passport.

Please let me know.

Contact Indian consulate. They'll guide you proper way then this forum.

You need to contact the VFS global.

If you send documents by mail, it takes like 2-3 weeks.
