Visiting Germany,Can we attend for H1 Visa Stamping??

Hi,I'm planning to visit(on visitors visa) Frankfurt,Germany.My current H1 visa is already expired in 2009.In this case, can i visit u.s. consulate in frankfurt to get my H1 stamping done??If so,what will be the process?How many days it may take to receive the passport,if visa is granted?

My spouse scenario:

She had recently changed her status from H4 to H1.So,can she also attend her stamping in germany, considering this is her first time stamping for H1??

Any suggestions/inputs are highly appreciated??

During my first time H1b stamping, I called to the visa outsourcing firm. They told me I can do the first time h1b stamping only from home country. Better to call them and get confirmed information. They would assist better for both of your questions.

It is always risky to get the visa in a third country.

It may work, but if not, you will have to go to your home country to get the visa.

In principle you both can apply in Germany. However, if the US Consulate in Germany is not able to verify your non-US academic background, they will deny the Visa and you will have to travel to home country from Germany.
