Can we apply for H1 through a different employer during CapGap OPT

Here is my case

H1b applied in premium processing on 04/09/2012

Reciept received date 04/24/2012

Received RFE on 05/03/2012

My 17 months OPT will expire on 06/06/2012 and I will automatically fall into capgap category and I checked with my College immigration officer and she is gonna send me the cap gap extension I20

Now my question is ..

If some thing goes wrong with the RFE and if My H1 got denied . Can I reapply for H1b through a different employer during the Capgap period . Please help me regrading this

In cap gap time if you H1b denies, you need to leave the USA unless you are not staying in 60 days grace period.

You can apply for new H1B but it must be applied before your OPT expiration date and request H1B start date of 1st Oct
