Process to get a new I 94 by exiting to Caribbean Island ?

Hi everyone,

I transferred my H1b from Employer X to Y, and Y's request with USCIS is pending.

My current H1b expires in June 2012.

Employer Y asked me to go to Caribbean Island and return to US to get a new I 94.

Does anyone know what the process is like?

Which Caribbean island is the best for a quick and easy trip?

Please share your experience.
