How to apply H1 from Australia.

I am from Hyderabad,Myself staying in Sydney Australia since 9 months on Work Permit (457 Visa).I came here through Onsite from Mahindra Satyam.

Now I want to apply H1 B for USA.

Can any one aware of the process?

Can we apply from Australia directly?

what is the cost for H1 Applications?

What is the procession time for H1 application?

Please Suggest....

This is how H1B application process goes:

a.) Apply to a job that requires you to work from a US location.

b.) Employer likes you and decides to hire you.

c.) They ask you for certain documents like education transcripts, degree etc.

d.) Their lawyer applies for the H1B.

There is absolutely NO COST that you have to bear; a good employer will never expect you to.

Processing time: 15 days if it's premium processing but you can only start working after October 1, 2012.

Find an employer in USA who can offer you a legit job and sponsor your H1b. You shouldn't bother about H1b processing fees. Only an employer can file H1b, not the employee. They can only pay the H1b fees, not the employee. It's law.

To the OP. Maybe my post is too late for your usage, but H1 is not an employee driven visa but an employer driven visa. Murthy.com has a lot of comprehensive information and you should read it thoroughly
