L1A to H1B - If H1B rejected

Hi,

I am currently on L1A visa till next year mid 2013 with Company A. Planning to apply for H1B through company B.

Following are my questions

1. If H1B gets rejected, can I continue in L1A with Company A?

2. Will my Company A come to know about my H1B rejection on a later date?

2. Can I define the start date of H1B while submitting the application?

3. Yes. If you are filing H1B with COS there has to be start date. Earliest is Oct 1 2012
