When to file for extension

Hello Friends,

How are you all - Hope doing great.

BTW , I am going to complete my 6 yrs of H1B period in Aug 2012.

I have my I140 Approved .

Can you please tell me what is the best time to file for Extension and whats the USCIS fees .

Will I get 3 yrs extension .?

Generally, when an individual has an approved I-140 petition filed on their behalf, that individual is eligible for H1B extensions in three year increments. However, the extension is still subject to USCIS approval so it will still be necessary to establish the employer has work available for the period requested. Additionally, the extension petition must be filed prior to the expiration of your current H1B status. USCIS allows an H1B petition to be filed within six months of the requested start date.
