givec
Hi, I am doing my medical residency on a H1b visa, I have just finsihed my 1st year of residency and I am transferring for a Year 2 position due to reasons peratinign to family. My current visa is H1B, and though my future program will provide administrative support, they will not pay for the transfer. A lawyer refused to do the transfer saying that , H1B processing has to be done/sponsored by employer and nowadays there is a risk this might be implemented. My future program wont pay for the expenses.Found a lawyer who will go ahead with the transfer...am worried as this seems pretty dicey. What to do?? I had paid for the initaial H1B processing last year myself. Dont know if this is a new development. Any information in this regard will be appreciated.. Thank you Link to comment
JoeF
There are some H1 fees that absolutely have to be paid by the employer. The employee is not allowed to pay for these fees, neither directly nor indirectly. Link to comment
