L1B to H1

Hi

I am holding L1 B with company X till September 2012. I am planning to file H1B with company Y and at the same time company X will start doing my L1 B extension during August 2012.What are all the options I have to get the H1 B filed without having any conflicts.

1)when H1 B filed and approved, then can My company start L1 B extention ?Is there any problem here.

2)In this case filing H1 B means ,should I go for converting L1 B to H1 B or should I go for a fresh H1 B filing?

Please provide the best possible option for my case and help me.
