Being laid off in one month! Need advice! JoeF please help !

Hi,

I have just been informed that my company is going to be laying off all employees in US office and May 31 is the last date. Company B looks very interested in offering me a position.

The question I have is:

If company B does not file my h1b visa transfer before may 31, what are my options? Can I return to India and wait it out until new petition approval and then come back in on Company A visa stamp? Is my visa stamp still valid if I have a new petition?
