L1B duration beyond 5 year.

I came to US on L1b 5 years back (2007). And in 2010 Instead of filling for extension I filled for new L1b. There was not a gap of 1 yr b.w. filling of 1st and 2nd visa.

On my first visa (i utilized 30 months), and i filled correct information while filling for L1b 2nd time. Logically I should be given 2nd L1b just for 30 months, as total duration for L1b can only be 5 years. But when I got my visa, I got it for 3 years. And my I94 (when i entered back to US in 2010) is also for 3 yr duration.

1) Now If i stay on my current visa, till it expires. I will be in US for 5.5 yrs on L1b, is it correct? or should I leave when 5 year period expires?

2) Will it impact my future GC/visa applications?

3) Do I need to inform anyone to correct this? if its a mistake.

They made a mistake. Do not try to benefit from it.

Eventually, they will find out, and if you stayed longer than the 5 years, you would be considered illegal retroactively.
