H1 6 years completing in SEP 10 2012

HI ,

My name is raj and I am in my 6 th year h1b and ending in Sep 10 2012.My wife is also on h1b.

My Employer applied my labor in march 1st 2012. I did not get any update on my labor.hopefully if my labor gets approved in 2 months then everything will be okay. If not then What option I have ?

1) Do I need to leave the USA after completing 6 years for 1 year ?

2) Do I have any option to switch to H14 ?

3) if my labor and i140 gets approved in Nov or anytime after my h1b can use my GC process to extend the h1 B ?

Please let me know what possible options I have.
