This is my guess. I have heard a lot about the cases with common last name and if everything is genuine in your case then it will be a happy ending. Link to comment

All the muslim names are sent through a thorough Background check and they don't care to send out the status. There is no way you can track it. Even after all the documents, you will not be given a visa immediately. If you get in next two weeks after your interview. you are the luckiest. I attended on Apr 23rd, just started my long awaited journey... best option... stop thinking about it... Link to comment
