AOS processing while on Vistor Visa

Hi ,

My mother-in-law is planning to visit US and she will be using her visitor visa to gain entry. My sister-in-law is a US citizen and she is applying for green card for my mother-in-law. we are confused

:whether we can do Adjustment of Status while someone is on vistor visa?

AND

: Is there an impact on entry for my mother-in-law (on visitor visa) while a GC application is in process?
