Multiple Employers filing new H1

I am currently is US on L1. There are multiple employers ready to file my H1.

Is it valid for multiple (different) employers to file new H1 for me at the same time.

Yes, that is possible. On Oct 1, when your status changes, you will have a choice.

Remember, you cannot join the new employer before Oct 1 and you must join any one of the H1 employers on Oct 1.

Even tough it is possible, why would an employer spend the money for an H1 if you don't intend to work there?

No sane employer would do that. And you should not pay for the H1 fees (some of the fees absolutely have to be paid by the employer.)
