satch69
I'm licensed attorney (not immigration). Both company A and company B are law firms. For purposes of LCA, my occupation is legal consultant. Briefly, here is my history of H1 applications: Oct 2007, granted 1st-time H1 (masters quota) with Company A Jan 2008, applied for (and granted) transfer to Company B June 2009, applied for (and granted) transfer back to Company A Since they only provide 3 years per application, my current status with Company A expires on June 2012. However, I still have 18 months left out of my 6-year limit (which will be reached on Oct 2013). So I know that I need to renew / re-apply, BUT... ...do I still need to undergo the entire process, including filing LCA and subsequently filing the I-129? Or is there a shortcut? Thanks, S Link to comment
satch69
Let me rephrase my question in case the above was not clear. Still hoping for a response. When renewing 3-year H1 with the same company and job title, do I have to repeat the entire process (LCA + petition) or is there some shortcut? Link to comment
kalyan_ac
A LCA is required every time you file for H1b even if its an extension or transfer or new. Because the old LCA you have might be expired by now. Link to comment
