H4 To H-1B Travel Outside US

Hello,

I am on H-1B Visa now, it started last October. My wife came here on F1 dependent Visa and then changed to H4 while she was here. So she still has F1 Visa only on her passport. Also, I did not get H-1B stamp on my passport yet. Now she got a job and applied for H-1B Visa and expecting approval sometime in May or June. Now, we both want to travel India in August. I know that we both need to go to consulate to get the new Visa stamps. But my question is, does my wife need to apply for H-1B stamping or H4, because she is not approved to work until October. Both of our jobs are full time jobs and not related to IT or consultancies. Is it suggestible to travel outside US in these conditions? What about Canada options?
