Sireeshap527
Hi I have valid L1B individual visa till Aug and I have applied for H1 and L1 extension (as H1 will be valid only from Oct). I got RFE for my L1B Individual Extension and H1. So my employer is suggesting me to go to Canada and get the new L1 Blanket stamped. I stayed in US on L1B Individual for 4.5 years till now. If I apply for new L1 Blanket and go to canada, how long can they give me the Visa. will they give based on my max out period(5 months) of L1 or is there a possiblity they can give me more than max out period? Please suggest me to proceed further. Thanks! With Best Regards, Sireesha. Link to comment
Attorney_23
It is possible the Consulate or CBP will make a mistake and issue you an L1 visa valid beyond your 5-year-limit, and/or an I-94 card with an expiration date beyond your 5-year-limit. However, even if they do, you would still generally fall out of status once you hit the 5-year-mark. Link to comment
