TinaThomas Posted April 18, 2012 Report Share Posted April 18, 2012 Hi, I am working as a "Q A Test Specialist"(Individual Contributor) on H1B doing software validation as well as Automation Testing(9 responsibilities listed in Job Description). And I may get promoted as a "Supervisor,Quality Assurance " where I need to do additional 7 duties which includes managing other QA members,identifying resources etc other than the previous responsibilities(Now 16 responsibilities) . Salary will be slightly increased whereas there is no change in Job Location. My question is 1) If I accept the new position, should I have to do an amendment on my current H1B? 2) My company planning to do GC in EB2 after this promotion.Will this promotion affect my GC Process? kalyan_ac Posted April 18, 2012 Report Share Posted April 18, 2012 You will not need an amendment to H1b. You can use these job duties to file for the GC, but since GC is for future employment you will have to be with these same job duties after getting the GC. Link to comment
