Harish Mullapudi
I'm on H1B. I've to go under a medical surgery, for which I need to take at least 3-4 months. I'm working as a contractor, so I guess I've no option but to resign. If I resign and go for the surgery can I stay on H1B for the next 3-4 months without working? If yes, how long can I stay? If not, then what should I do? Please help me. Thanks. Link to comment
JoeF
On H1, you are not working as contractor. H1s are only for employees. You have an employer. Link to comment
livliv
You can get a leave without pay because of a genuine reason. But make sure you maintain proper documentation (Doctor's letter, Hospital bills etc.) to support the leave without pay. Link to comment
