Work remotely from home country while on H1B visa and on US payroll

Can I work remotely from home country for a period of 2-3 months while on H1B visa and on US payroll? Is there anything that my company would need to do i.e paper work / notify USCIS etc ?

I have already clocked 60 days out of country for this year, and it is likely that I have to again due to family health reasons.

Any feedback or pointers will be much appreciated.

You are not in H1 status when you are abroad. From your home country, you can of course work remotely. But there may be tax issues, so you and your employer should discuss this with a good CPA experienced in international issues.
