srini1795
My current Visa/i-94 is about to expire on 29-Oct-2012 and I will be applying for an Extension by end of April. I have vacation plans to visit India from mid July to mid August and have been getting mixed feedback from my friends about travelling outside the country while my VISA Extension is in process. Can you please advice if it is fine for me to travel to India while my VISA extension is in process. Also I do not have plans to get my stamping done during this trip as I will be returning to US by mid August (which is more than 2 months before my current Visa/i-94 expires). Please advice. kalyan_ac
If the decision on your extension happens while you are in india, your petition will be approved as consular processing and you will have to go to stamping before trying to come back here.Otherwise you should be OK. Link to comment
singlanamita
My advice would not to apply for extension until you come back from India. Ask your lawyers to keep the papers ready and you can file for extension immediately after you come back. Link to comment
