Boston_107
Hello Friends, I have a question regarding visit to Canada on H1B visa. My H1B stamp on passport is expired and I am currently on a new I-797 with a valid H1B and job. Now, I need to go to Canada for a urgent visit for only 3 days and then come back. With all the speculations with visa stamping, I want to refrain from going for another visa stamping in Canada and on the contrary, I heard that they have 30 day rule that you can come back to us within 30 days with your new I-797 and you don't need a new stamped visa. Is that true? Thanks in advance for your assistance... Boston_107. Link to comment
JoeF
Yes, that's true. It is called Automated Visa Revalidation (AVR). Lots of info on the Internet about it. Essentially, if you have a valid I-94, you keep it when traveling to Canada for less than 30 days, and you can return with it. Link to comment

livliv
30 Days Rule is applicable for USA Vistiting Visa as well ? or Visiter Vias member has to take the Visa form the Canada Consulate ? Thanks This rule is about US Visa for returning to the US from Canada. It has nothing to do with Canada's Visa requirement. If Canadian laws require you to have Canadian Visa (irrespective of whether your Visitor or worker in US), you need to get it from Canadian Consulate/Embassy in the US. Link to comment
