Applying H1B while on B1

Hi,

I have B1 Visa and I have been asked by my new employer to travel to USA for 2 to 4 weeks on B1. Once I reach B1, my H1B processing would be initiated.

My employer wants to apply for my B1 extension for another 3 months after my stay of 2-4 weeks.

I am told that once I am back to India after 4-6 months, I will be going for stamping in October.

I would really appreciate if anyone could comment on my below two concerns:

1) Would I be able to get extension on B1 and

2) Would it not impact the probability of my H1B stamping.

Hmm, that's not possible. The B1 is for a foreign employer.

An H1 is from a US employer.

You can not work for a US employer on B1.
