h1b extension pending from 6months and i-94 expired and filed a trnafer using the extension receipt

Hi,

My I797-expired in sep 2011 and my emplyer filed extension in aug 2011 in premium process and no response on that yet if i check the status that shows only ACCETANCE.

in jan 2012 i filed another transfer petition in premium process by using that extension receipt now i got RFE on that .

I heard that if i answer that RFE ...USCIS may approve my petition but only the I-797 but not the I-94 card in that case i need to get out of the US and come back with visa stamp...is that true?

can i do some thing with my extension petition ?
