Can i file for I485 after PF retrogression

If smart guys on this Forum could help

1) I have my PERM and I-140 approved from my Previous Employer with PD of 04/10/2010

2) The new employer has filed the PERM application in March 2012 and i am expecting PERM and subsequently I140 to be approved by August 2012

My question relates to the proposed retrogression and Priority Dates

1) Once the Priority dates become current and then retrogress; can i still file for I485 at a later stage?

2) If i want to file my I485 in August 2012; would it be possible?

At the time of filing the I-485, the PD absolutely has to be current.
