H1B transfer

Hi,

I was on H1B visa when I was laid off on Feb 29, 2012. I applied for H4 dependent visa on 03/15/2012.

Below are my questions:

1) Since I applied 2 weeks after my job termination, will that be an issue for my dependent visa approval?

2) Meanwhile, before my H4 visa gets approved, if I find an employer ready for H1 transfer, do I need to inform the employer that I have applied for a dependent visa? I don't wish to let the prospective employer to know about my pending H4 visa status or the fact that I was laid off, can they discover I applied for H4 visa while filing for H1B visa transfer?
