H1B application process

Hello,

It has been a while that I have applied for my H1B, so I do not remember the whole process ( I am a green card holder now ). My spouse might go the H1B route as well.

Is the H1B process application going like this :

- she finds a company to sponsor het

- company files the H1B

- she waits until the H1B is approved/processed to start the job ( which seem to take about 6 months )

Is there a way to start the job without having to wait for the H1B to be approved ?
