H1B non profit to for profit

Hi.. i need help regarding h1b transfer from non profit organization to for profit organization

currently i have h1b from non profit organization( which was not applied in quota) and i am planning to move for profit employer who can sponsor my h1b

if suppose they apply during 2013 h1b quota during April month. do i need to wait till oct 1st to start my new job ? or can i start once i get new h1b receipt?

Generally, any H1B petition filed under the numerical H1B quota cannot begin until at least October 1. Thus, the beneficiary cannot begin working for the employer until the H1b petition is approved and the start date (October 1) takes effect.
