Praveen Bolluru Posted March 15, 2012 Report Share Posted March 15, 2012 I have a question regarding my H1B extension beyond 6 years. Below are the details. Please advise. I have entered US on 19 Jan 2006. I have been out of the country only for 3 weeks so far. Going by my date of entry, my 6 yrs of H1 should have ended on 19 Jan 2012. However, when I changed my employer in 2009, the new H1 filed had my expiration date of 30 May 2012. My employer has filed for my H1 extension on 13 Feb 2012 based on my I-140 approval. The case is still in Initial Review. Would it cause any issues that my extension was filed after 6 yrs of my US stay? The current H1 document has the expiration date till May, but I want to be sure if there will be no issues in such a case and my options otherwise. Link to comment
