EAD AOS - F1 OPT

Im on H1 (primary applicant) & my wife on F1, applied for I-485/EAD/AP, receipt date Feb 28 2012. My wife is completing her studies on April 30th 2012.

Now can she apply for her EAD on F1-OPT and can she maintain her status independently (along with the AOS-EAD) ?

If NO, do I have to transfer her on H4 status ?

no need to transfer.

she can start using GC EAD right after her studies.she will be permanently under AOS until 485 approval.

i am not sure if u can apply for F1 EAD.

I am in a similar situation.but I got my F1 EAD a month before we became current and applied for GC EAD later.I got my GC EAD later.

right now I have 2 EAD and I plan to use my student EAD.

She wouldn't even be able to get OPT, since she has shown immigration intent, and that precludes any changes for an F1.

She can just use the I-485-based EAD.
