Travel to India when H1-B extension is pending

Hi,

My current H1-B expires in July 2012. I am a Full time employee and my employer has already applied for my H1-B extension a few days back, but I got an opportunity for business travel to India for company related work. I haven't got any stamping since my first H1 was approved. This would be my first H1 stamping.

I did not get my extension approval yet, I have read in many forums that it is not advisable to travel out of US while extension is pending. I cannot apply for premium processing since I will be leaving in a week time and in premium processing to get an approval, it takes atleast 15 days. So,please let me know if the USCIS comes to know that I am out of US while they process my extension, will they deny my case?
