Traveled with expired AP - Back in US with H1b renewal. EAD Status?

Quick Details:

• EB3
  
• Priority Date – Feb 2003
  
• On H1b for 6+ Years.
  
• Applied I-485 in July 2007 along with EAD/AP (Spouse + myself)
  
• Kept renewing both, took a full-time position and switched to EAD/AP in Jan 2010 ( Valid till 05/2013)
  

In August 2011, I inadvertently travelled to India for a week with an expired AP (Mistook the Paroled Until date for the Expiry date)

Came to know it on the way back and had to return back to India.

Another company did my H1b renewal based on Pending I-485 and back in US now.

My confusion now is:

Not sure about my EAD status?

Can I use it for my wife to seek employment?

Can I apply for the renewal EAD/AP?

My new company is also planning to apply for a GC under EB2 and I have an option of porting the dates, but I have to wait for another 6 months.

Any inputs on this will be great.
