L1 to H1 and L1 to GC possibilities

Hi,

I am presently working in company A in L1 B visa whose 5 year term ends in Oct 2012. Company A is applying H1 b for me for 1 year and hence i believe i cannot stay in US beyond oct 2013. With this condition i have following questions..

a) Can company B apply for H1 in april 2012. Means can more than 1 company file H1 for a single person on same year?

b) I have never been in H1 visa previously and if my H1 visa for 2012 gets approved do i need to go to India or outside U.S. for stamping? I generally thought it is not required, but few posts in this forum quoted i might need to since i am doing H1 for first time

c) can company B file GC for me with my present L1B status?, means file Labor Certificate for working with them ?

d) if company B files LC prior to Oct 2012 can i continue to stay in US beyond Oct 2013 since LC has been filed 365 days prior to my 6 year limit
