In India for more than 4 months on H4

Hello,

I have been in US on F1 visa since Aug 2007 and recently changed to H4 visa after visiting India in Dec 2011. Here I had to unexpectedly undergo a major surgery due to which I cannot travel back to US until end of this month. I will be out of US for almost 4 months before I return. My husband who is on H1B intends to start our green card process through his employer soon. He returned back to US in Jan 2012. Both our visas expire on 30th Sep 2012 but could be renewed as he has 3 more years on H1B.

Can such a long stay outside US cause any problems with my green card application? Also, could there be any problems while seeking re-entry in US when I travel back?
