L1 / H1 question on 6 years

My 6 years on my H1 is complete today ( nice coincidence... that i thought of putting on the forum today )

I initiated the H1 to H4 conversion 3 weeks ago and still in process.

One of my old clients is doing the paper work for a job in Canada which might come in 3 or 4 months.

once i move to Canada - they plan is to visit family on a H4 or a B1 visa ( client is Ok with either one )

and after an year in Canada - the client wants to transfer me to US ( they moved the position to Canada because they was no more time left on H1 )

What i wanted to know is when i travel back and forth between US and Canada - how will that impact the new L1 B ( i mean when you apply for a new L1/ H1 you have to be out of the country once you finish 6 years on an L1 /H1)

any suggestions / comments
