ashishk1
An US Citizen can apply for parents green card and there is no priority date issue for that. But how about Mother and Father in Law. Are they considered as Parents for Greencard purpose? Eg. An US citizen marries a non US Citizen and after marriage applies for her Green Card. It'll take long time to get her a Green Card and subsequently Citizenship. But can the US Citizen apply for his in laws Green Card Link to comment
JoeF
No, that doesn't work for in-laws. The spouse, once a US citizen, can sponsor his/her parents. Link to comment
ashishk1
Thanks Joe. In Laws don't fit in any category mentioned for GC. Link to comment
Jay Doc
My daughter is a US citizen after marriage. While sponsoring us for GC she requires our marriage certificate which is not available now. Will a notarized affidivate can serve the purpose? If she applies now will there be any restrictions on our present visa which is valid for next 3 years. We have visited US on 5 occasions. Link to comment
