db138
I have been approved for an H1 via a non profit institution. I have another job offer that I would like to take up but since the current H1 is via a non profit, it is not transferable. I am thinking of converting to F1 status but realized a change of status can take anywhere between 2 to 6 months. My potential employer might not wait that long. What are my options? My potential employer is willing to sponsor me for a new H1 in April. Thus I will need to be in F1 status from March thru September. My F1 visa was stamped for five years in 2008 when I came here for my MBA and is still valid. Can I somehow leverage that? Thanks guys. Any help will be really appreciated. Link to comment
JoeF
You can't work off-campus on F1, anyway. So, if the employer can't wait until Oct. 1 for you, it won't work anyway. And, an F1 is not for "bridging" some time. It is for studying. Your old F1 is over and gone. You are on H1 now. Link to comment
