goin2Vancouver
Hi, Can I work for two employers at the same time if i have a green card? Will that cause any potential issues? Or do i have to wait minimum of 6 months before making any changes (either switching to another employer or working for one more employer at the same time)? thanks. Link to comment
JoeF
Sure, you can work for as mony employers as you want, and your employment contract allows. The rule is that you have to work for the sponsoring employer for some time, but it is possible to work for somebody else on the side. However, employment contracts often prohibit that without approval from the employer. Link to comment
Attorney_22
Generally, it is advisable to remain with your I-140 sponsor for at least six months in the full-time position described in the underlying Labor Certification. However, this does not prevent an individual from engaging in additional work opportunities. Therefore, as long as you are fulfilling your obligations pursuant to the I-140/Labor Certification you are free to work for an additional employer. If you have further questions please speak directly with a qualified U.S. immigration attorney. Link to comment
