h136367
Hi, My wife is appearing for H4 Visa stamping interview in Mumbai. I had change of status from F1 to H1B on Oct 01, 2011. I have not traveled since then so I do not have H1 stamp on my passport. Should I send my original 797(a) or a copy of it to my wife for the interview? Thanks in advance! Link to comment
Chitown01
Send Originial, in case they ask she has a it... usually they will confirm your information via PIMS Link to comment
h1hopes
No need for the original. Consulate will have enough information to verify documents. But if you want to send original (peace of mind :-) ), your employer will have extra copy, you can send it to her. Consulate won't keep the original copy of 797, so she will bring it back.
