I485 filing - question on birth certificate

Hi All,

I have a question on the documents required for 485 filing. I donot seem to have the birth certificate so planning to get the non availability of birth certificate.

Does anyone know would it be an issue to file with non availability certificate. would there be any possibility or chance of RFE due to this.

We are in the same boat.

I Have one question.

Is the birth certificate issued by the munical corporation ( Dept of births and deaths ) should be one issued just with in first year of birth .. or can I get even now .

I mean - If I was born in Oct 1985 , does it mean that I should have birth certificate issued on or before oct 1986 ?

or Can I get a birth certificate issued in this year 2012 .

Hi Priya,

I guess it would be ok to get the birth certificate issues now. I am not sure though.

pls try it at your muncipality at the city of birth.
