Blanket L1 expiry date vs I-94 date

Hi,

I have blanket L1 visa valid till May 2012. But mine and my dependant's I-94 has date till Nov 2014.

By May 2012 I will be completing 3 years in US on L1 visa.

Is it leagal to stay on L1 status till May 2014 (by when I will be completing 5 years) without applying for an extension.

My dependant's EAD got expired in Dec'2011. Now if we apply for renewal of EAD, will we get the approval for 2 years from now.

Plese advise.

If a foreign national seeks readmission as a Blanket L-1,the individual's valid is unexpired, and the Blanket Petition is still valid, the foreign national will ordinarilly be admited for an additional three years.
