F2 to H4

Hello,

I have one more question - My scenario is me and my wife had F1 and F2 respectively and our I-20 letters are valid till Aug 2012. But the stamped visa on our passport have expired. I have applied for my H1 and will be getting the petition number soon, so i will be having my visa status changed from F1 to H1 and then will apply for my wife's H4. So is this valid as for couple of days i will be on H1 and she would be on F2, or we need to do our filing together. I am confused as when we try to file for her H4 they ask for petition number but i am in process of getting it.

Would this be a problem while we go for stamping to India in May

Please guide.
