H1B extension Regular Processing Vermont

Hi,

My H1 extension has filed on Aug 30th 2011. I want the receipt of that. When can I receive the receipt of that because my parents are planning to visit US from India. Their visitor visa interview is on Sep 26th. Also, is the receipt enough to show there or is the approval mandatory.

You need an approved receipt. Vermont is processing May papers now. You will have to wait another 4 to 6 months.

Processing time is for approval of the petition. You should get the receipt notice within a couple of weeks.

Also, you do not need this information for your parents' visitor visa. The visa officer is looking for proof of their "non-immigration" (if I can say that) intent and is not concerned about your H1 visa.
