Travel During the L1-B extension

Hi,

My L1-B and I94 is getting expired on Feb 19,2012. Company is going for my L1 B extension from USA.

My wife has some medical issues ,she has L2 dependent visa.

I wanted to know during the Visa extension period or after filing the extension,Can I send my wife to India. Although the status of the visa would not be clear at that time.
