EAD/AP received while waiting for 221g administrative processing

I went for my 3rd h1b extension with same employer to kolkatta and they gave me a 221g on dec 30th. they dint ask for any documents but they kept my passport.

Yesterday I got my EAD/AP (eb2). I no longer need a visa to travel but my passport is with the embassy.

Should i just wait the processing out or should i write to the embassy, request my passport back and return on EAD/AP

I am allowed to WFH but client is getting a little impatient.

Not sure how long this administrative processing will take? Also does abandoning my 221g process impact my 485 processing (eb2) ?
