gobans
All, My H1B expired on Jan 13, 2012. Got my extension approved on 12/23/2011 for 3 more years. But it starts only on 01/14/2012 along with I-94. But I tried twice to get my drivers license renewed with my approved 797A, before my valid from date and got a negative answer from Cumming DMV. They say they don't have my immigration info validated in the SAVE database. Today 01/17/2012 was the first working day (for DMV as 01/14 and 01/16 were holidays in GA) after my new H1B got activated and hence I went to the same DMV but still they couldn't verify it...They gave me a letter saying that I'll get a call within 5 business days. Not able to drive to office, school etc...Has anyone had this bad experience.....? Pls Advise.. Gobans Link to comment
dinesh_hyd
Yes. I went through the same. Nothing to worry. The process is called SAVE where DMV will check the legal status of non citizens residing in USA.You will get a call in 5-6 business days.If not give them a call back. Link to comment
livliv
Try visiting local USCIS office or calling USCIS to update their SAVE database. Link to comment
murphyd
This is a known problem in GA. I had my license renewed in FL while waiting for my status to be updated. It worked out perfectly. Link to comment
