MenUTD
Hi, I am planning to have H1B extension stamping @ Canada. I want to get Canadian visitor visa from Detroit Canadian consulate. Here is my question, I have gone through the requirements and there is a section listed to provide the documents for the purpose of visit. So should I first schedule an interview in Canada (say Toranto) and use that confirmation as a proof or can I attend and say 'just to Visit'? Which visiting visa would you recommend (one time visit or Multi-visit visa) FYI- my H1b extension already started so if I leave the country I need to get stamped. I would be thankful if someone can answer my question. Link to comment
mirage09
I would recommend getting a multi visit visa; it will be useful incase you run into problems with the visa stamping and have to return to Canada at a later date. As for the purpose, either "visa stamping" or "tourism" should be fine. Just tell the visa officer what your plans are. Link to comment
sravan123
I will strongly recommend to take Multiple entry Canada visa. The reason for your trip If you already decided to which Consulate you want to attend, Fill the DS160 and take appointment letter.Or you can just say want to visit Canada. mirali2010
I would also recommend Multiple entry visa. For the purpose, if saying 'Visa stamping', it is better to get the appointment fist and carry the appointment confirmation (for Toronto). If visit, you might have to mention the place where you are going to visit. Good luck. Link to comment
