rrdonga
I am on H1B visa. Full time employee of a company. My job is ending on Jan 20. Since company is ending my job they will run my payroll for 2 months(will also DD the paycheck) + they will pay me 1 month of severance pay. I already found a new job and my H1B is in the process of getting transferred. I will join them right on Jan 21. There is no gap in between. Now the question is. Since I will join a new company they will start running my payroll. Also my previous company will run the payroll and pay me the severance. Will running multiple payroll is an issue ? If I ask my first company to stop running the payroll then I wont receive any severance pay. Please guide me on what should be done here. Link to comment
rs_1973
Not a problem. This does not violate your visa status, as you are not getting paid from your first employment. It is like back-pay, and you are entitled to receive that at any time, whether or not you are on that company's active employee list. Link to comment
