Revoked H1, Unexpired Visa, New approved H1+ Travel

Here is my situation and I'd appreciate your feedback in this regard:

Transferred H1 from from company A to company B. Company A sent a notice to revoke H1. I have a valid visa on my passport through June 2012. Also, have a new H1 approved through company B and I am currently working for company B.

Now normally if you travel abroad you may return to the US using the unexpired visa and the new I-797. However, in this case since there is a possibility that USCIS may have processed the request from company A to revoke the H1 what are the implications of returning to the US without having a new visa stamping?

Is there any way to check how soon USCIS acts on such requests to revoke H1s?
